As a whole, the Hong Kong crew is not as strong, cohesive, or enjoyable a group as the Dragonfall crew, but individual it has some of the most interesting individuals of the series (Racter and Gaichu, in particular, explore elements of the setting that are not usually well fleshed out). You have a crew in this one, a quartet of extremely well fleshed out and likeable allies that you can build and use for free on missions (non-crew mercenaries are still available for hire, of course, but it's rarely to your benefit to use them). Leaves you feeling a little crippled when you should feel at your most powerful. This might have been fixed in later releases, though. The final fight leaves you relying on an un-typed firearm (it acts like a shotgun but doesn't use shotgun skills) and all your other powers (rigger drones, spells, weapons, etc) only work half the time. She's generous when it benefits her, cruel when it doesn't, friendly when making allies and cold when those allies come back to ask favors.ДЄs for the games themselves, here's my take (for what that's worth): She is not in an environment that rewards kindness, more often than not taking advantage of that to lethal effect, so she is not trying to be nice, only extremely competent at her job.

She excels at making every side of most transactions a win for her, being an exceptional opportunist who knows when to take risks and when to hold fast. In Dragonfall, however, his community focus and unusually close ties with his muscle bit him in the ass in this case as it exposed him to some pretty nasty stuff that he was not prepared for.Д¬heng, on the other hand, is definitely the better fixer. We don't get to see much of how Amsel works with outside players. I think it really works in his favor, but only in the Flux. Having Monika and her crew on his payroll (and paying rent) gives him cred both as having power at his command and being tied with other civic 'good guys' (much to Eiger's annoyance).

End result is that Amsel works as a community leader, relying more on charisma, intel, and good will, rather than simply being too intimidating to cross - at least IN the Flux State. Flux State is far more community-focused and more free from the corps. He's in the Flux State, not Hong Kong or Seattle. So when developer Harebrained Schemes announced 'Shadowrun Returns' in 2012, fans were thrilled.I don't know if Amsel screwed up or not. There was also a game 2007 with the same name for Xbox 360, but it was a shooter in first person for multiple players and ended up not being so received by the public. The 'Shadowrun' board game, on which the trilogy is based, was originally released in 1989, before generating a series of adaptations for game, starting with Beam Software's beloved but obscure 'Shadowrun 1993' for Super Nintendo.
